Holy Communion

1 Corinthians 10:16 states, “The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?”

In holding to classical Wesleyan theology, Nazarenes doctrinally hold a very high view of the Eucharist and believe in the real tangible presence of Christ in the consecrated elements, though we do not claim to know the mysteries of God by trying to explain exactly how. Because our chief desire is that all people would have an encounter with the living God, we maintain an open table policy which means that you do not have to be a member of the Church of the Nazarene to come to our table and children are welcome as well!

The Swartz Creek church celebrates communion a bit more often than most Nazarene churches. As noted above, we believe communion is a powerful and tangible way to encounter the living God! How could we withhold such blessings? So come every week expecting an invitation to the Table of the Lord.
